LOVE: Lake Oswego Value Exchange, a Mutual Credit & Time Bank

Mutual Credit is complementary currency designed to build social capital, promote reciprocity and strengthen our core economy: home, family, neighborhood and community that have been so damaged by the global financial meltdown. Time Banking is a method of reciprocal service exchange that uses time units as mutual credit, which creates value in the CareWheels Interdependent-care model by converting surplus human capital assets into social capital to reinforce fraying social services and hedge against fiscal austerity.
